I finally got to visit the new Shake Shack in Covent Garden over the weekend. Previously I’d been intimidated by the queue, but not this time. Avoiding lunch time, I went in the evening and found the wait not to bad at all. In fact I was impressed by the ‘pager’ system they’ve adpoted, where they issue you with one of these retro devices, which buzzes when your orders ready.
The wait wasn’t too long, it seemed to fly by as I found myself in an early 90s nostalgia dream about communications before mobiles. I ordered a double cheeseburger to go and it was well worth it. The patty was cooked perfectly and was oozing with flavour, their own relish is the perfect accompaniment and the cheese and bun just gelled together. This is definately up there as one of the best London new-comers, definately worth a visit. Now I understand why the queues are always there.
A live specimen.
and in the wild……
